There are 2 versions of the movie: The movie that was banned and edited by the Censor Board and the version that was released in the cinema’s. THIS is the version THAT WAS NOT RELEASED. This version of SHOLAY has more footage AND the original ending that had to be reshot and was not in the final film.
Even people who look down on Hindi films have seen 1 Hindi movie: SHOLAY. The all time blockbuster of Hindi cinema. The baap of all masala entertainers. All characters in this movie have become iconic characters from Jai, Veeru, Thakur, Gabbar, Basanti and Thakur to the bit players like Sambha, Kaalia, Soorma Bhopali, Chacha, Mausi, Soorma Bhopali and all other charchters -even Sachin. Even if you have seen the move countless times you must watch this version for the additional footage and the alternative ending.
Many filmmakers have tried to copy this film but all were disasters. Even the Dilip Kumar, Sridevi, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Schroff, Poonam Dhillon and Nutan film KARMA was not up to the standard of SHOLAY. Dou yourself a favour and watch this edition.
